Objectives

Through the implementation of the "BIO Food – I Take Health Into My Own Hands" project, we aimed to achieve specific goals focused on raising ecological awareness, promoting healthy eating, and fostering the integration of young people from different countries. The project was designed to address the needs of modern youth, who increasingly seek alternative and conscious solutions related to everyday dietary choices and their impact on the environment. The activities combined non-formal education, practical work, and intercultural integration. The main goals of the project included: Increasing knowledge and awareness about organic food – we aimed to educate young people on what BIO food is, its benefits, and its positive impact on human health and the natural environment. Participants had the opportunity to learn about ecological food production processes and understand the importance of the European Union's "Farm to Fork" strategy, which promotes a sustainable approach to food production and consumption. Developing pro-ecological attitudes and dietary habits – through workshops, field activities, and practical sessions, participants gained skills related to producing their own food, reducing food waste, and implementing “zero waste” principles. The project demonstrated that healthy, organic food can be accessible to everyone and does not have to involve high costs. Promoting international cooperation and cultural integration – young people from Poland, Croatia, Romania, and Bulgaria participated in the project. Through joint activities, they had the opportunity to build relationships, explore different traditions and cultures, and understand the value of international collaboration. The shared experiences allowed them to overcome language and cultural barriers and foster a sense of European unity. Developing key competencies among participants – the project aimed to support young people in developing social, organizational, communication, and digital skills. Working in international teams encouraged learning cooperation, creativity, and problem-solving. Additionally, participants improved their language skills through communication in English. Creating lasting project outcomes – one of the key goals was to develop materials with long-term value for participants and their communities. As part of the project, a mini cookbook was created featuring recipes based on ecological products, along with a campaign promoting healthy eating and a sustainable lifestyle. These materials were produced in multiple languages to facilitate broad dissemination. Supporting young people with fewer opportunities – the project also focused on supporting participants with limited access to similar initiatives. Through well-planned activities, they were provided with comfortable conditions and full participation opportunities, which contributed to their personal development and integration within the group. The project’s implementation enabled participants to acquire valuable knowledge and skills applicable in their daily lives. Through practical workshops and field activities, the youth learned how to produce organic food, plan sustainable diets, and care for the environment. Participants visited local organic farms, explored the culinary traditions of other countries, and engaged in discussions about the challenges of environmental protection. The project also fostered the integration of young people from different countries, building mutual understanding and respect for cultural diversity. Through shared activities and the exchange of experiences, participants broadened their horizons and gained skills that will be useful in their future professional and personal lives. In summary, the primary goal of the project was to promote an ecological lifestyle, increase young people's awareness of healthy eating, and encourage international integration. By implementing the planned activities, we achieved the intended outcomes, which will have a lasting impact on the participants and their communities. The project demonstrated that young people can actively influence the environment, shape healthy and pro-ecological habits, and develop essential competencies while building international relationships.
