Objectives

Our project is intended to respond to the need to become conscious voters as well as the problem of limiting as much as possible our susceptibility to fake news, manipulation, distortion of reality in terms of political content that we are "fed" by politicians and the media. Participation in the project is intended to teach us a substantive and rational approach to the issue of political choices, "arm" us with knowledge about the mechanisms of functioning of the world of politics (politicians and the institutions within which given politicians function) and also "force" us to think that result in the formation of our political preferences and the ability to assess the attitudes and opinions expressed by politicians. By participating in the project, we (youth exchange participants) intend to lay the foundations for exercising not only the passive electoral right (voting) but also the active electoral right (running for political office). If we realize what kind of politician we should choose to represent our interests (locally, regionally, nationally, internationally), perhaps we will dare to become politicians in the future, the kind of politicians we would like to choose. The main tool we will use during the youth exchange "Be prepared! Your voice matters!" there will be culture and art. It is mainly thanks to activities in the field of culture and art (painting, making films, artistic happenings) that we will expand awareness of making political choices. This is very important because we believe that activities in the field of culture and art will help us create a safe design space within which we will be able to comfortably explore the difficult topic of making political choices. During the project, we will not only gain valuable knowledge, skills and competences in making conscious, rational, substantive political choices, we will develop the belief in the need to take part in votes, but we will also learn to share project results and achievements with people outside our project group and also include from outside the group in our project activities. Thanks to the implementation of the project "Be prepared! Your voice matters!" we will also have the opportunity to develop: language competences and skills in working in international groups, experience cultural knowledge and acquire attitudes that will serve us in the future both in the educational, professional and private areas, namely: self-confidence, the ability to overcome one's own limitations, tolerance, openness other people, working out compromises, creativity, ability to think outside the box, assertiveness, resistance to manipulation and lies. Most of our project participants have not participated in this type of projects so far, so participation in the project "Be prepared! Your voice matters!" will certainly be a milestone for us on the path of personal and educational development (using informal education).
