This project was initiated by young people from Poland and the Czech Republic who approached us as organization capable of supporting them in the realization of a joint endeavor. The goal of the youth was to implement a project that would allow them to strengthen their language, social, and cultural competencies while focusing on martial arts as a means of physical, mental, and social development. The youth expressed concern about the decreasing level of sports activity among their peers and the increasing amount of time young people spend in the digital world. They also noted that the decline in physical activity became more pronounced after the COVID-19 pandemic. As the applicant organization, we conducted an analysis of available data on youth sports activity. At the time of the application, the data indicated that every third Pole was not physically active even once a month, and the lack of regular physical activity increased susceptibility to numerous diseases. All these factors led us to provide young people with the opportunity to carry out this project. This turned out to be a great decision, as the participants demonstrated exceptional engagement, openness toward each other, and continuous improvement of their skills every day. The objectives of the project were: - to facilitate the development of participants by acquiring and expanding theoretical and practical knowledge about martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - to enhance participants' physical fitness and highlight the correlation between physical activity, mental health, and social engagement - to develop participants' intercultural competencies through integration in an international environment and joint activities - to increase participants' awareness of European values, fostering attitudes of openness and tolerance - to strengthen participants' digital skills through the creation of multimedia presentations - to develop participants' social competencies - to provide participants with the opportunity to establish international Polish-Czech friendships - to boost participants' self-esteem and self-confidence. The project enabled partner organizations to establish a strong partnership and enhance both cultural and organizational competencies.
