Objectives

"Sharp Your MIND" is an international youth exchange project carried out jointly, by young people coming from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Greece. The project involved a total of 37 people, i.e. 28 young people, 7 group leaders and 2 people supporting the whole process of cooperation and our learning (facilitation). The project consisted of two main activities, i.e. a preparatory meeting implemented from 27-28 July 2024 and a youth exchange implemented from 1-8 September 2024. We defined the main goal of the project as counteracting among young people the negative phenomenon of deterioration of broadly understood mental health and well-being and the consequences of this deterioration and strengthening in participants the qualities and attitudes that support emotional stability. We defined the objectives as follows: - to improve understanding of mental health deterioration and well-being among young people, - to counteract the stigmatisation of young people affected by the negative consequences of mental health deterioration by improving understanding of the problem and promoting public awareness of its causes, consequences and effects, - strengthening participants in the area of attitudes and coping competences during periods of severe stress or anxiety, uncertainty, coping with failures, new challenges and adaptation to a changing reality, feeling unmotivated and other factors which may permanently impair the well-being and mental health of participants, - promotion of supportive methods for mental health and well-being such as self-care, self-esteem building, development of social and interpersonal competences and a sense of community and acceptance, understanding of one's own needs and emotions and the ability to express and name them, becoming more active in outdoor, nature-based learning and mindfulness activities. - development of experiences, competences and skills related to the preparation and implementation of the project and the conduct of international cooperation. The partners in our project were 6 youth organisations from Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Greece: - "Together Romania" from Romania, - STEP from Slovakia, - JENF from Spain, - Mladejki Centar za Razvitie from Bulgaria, - VsI "Apglebk Pasauli" from Lithuania, - Neoi Ellados Se Eyropaiki Drasi from Greece.
