Objectives

The SUCOMINNO project aimed to empower young people and youth workers by equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and skills needed to address two of today’s most pressing challenges: youth unemployment and the climate crisis. These challenges became more urgent during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in rural areas with fewer opportunities. The project focused on promoting green innovation, circular economy, and eco-conscious entrepreneurship as practical responses. The objectives of the project were: To promote green innovation and sustainable entrepreneurship among young people by using non-formal education methods, gamification, and intercultural exchange. To equip youth workers with tools to inspire and guide young people, especially those from marginalized or rural areas, in building eco-responsible initiatives. To raise awareness about the circular economy and environmental sustainability through workshops, local actions, and project-based learning. To promote inclusion, diversity, and cultural exchange by involving participants from diverse backgrounds in an interactive, collaborative environment. To develop self-awareness, decision-making skills, and resilience among participants, using reflective exercises, teamwork, and personal development activities. To strengthen cooperation between NGOs, schools, municipalities, and youth centers, creating synergies for future eco-innovation projects. The project was implemented through two highly interconnected Professional Development Activities (PDAs): PDA1 (Poland, Jan 2025) focused on understanding green innovation, exploring the circular economy, and forming transnational groups to develop eco-entrepreneurial ideas. They developed 8 ideas as as follows: PDA2 (Cyprus, Apr 2025) deepened these ideas through practical workshops, SWOT analysis, and simulations. Participants also exchanged best practices in sustainable youth work and learned how to design eco-friendly local actions. Between and after the PDAs, participants organized local implementations combining game-based learning and green initiatives. These involved municipalities, schools, and youth centers in each country, promoting direct youth engagement and reinforcing the educational impact. Through the entire process, youth workers and young people: Explored practical green solutions like waste management and upcycling. Used tools such as SWOT analysis, team-based design, and community involvement. Gained inspiration to initiate green projects in their local contexts. Created a community of practice for future environmental collaborations. The project resulted in a strong sense of initiative and empowerment, multiple new project ideas for future Erasmus+ cooperation, and enhanced capacities among youth workers to support green entrepreneurship and environmental awareness.
