By implementing the Improdrama 4.0 project, we wanted to strengthen the competences of youth workers, educators and leaders in using theatrical methods to empower young people. Our aim was to respond to the high need for practical tools and skills that help combine non-formal and formal education. We wanted participants to learn how to use physical theatre, mime and visual theatre as innovative methods to support young people’s personal growth, creativity and self-confidence. Another goal was to encourage cooperation between schools and non-formal education settings. By doing so, more educators could apply theatrical techniques in their daily work, connecting them with school subjects and local community needs. We also wanted to raise the quality of youth work in areas such as social inclusion, intercultural learning, human rights and building self-esteem. Many young people today face lack of purpose, low motivation and self-doubt. This project wanted to help youth workers tackle these challenges more effectively. Through Improdrama 4.0, we wanted to provide space for participants to create, test and develop new educational activities based on theatre. We hoped this would promote better youth empowerment at local level. Finally, we wanted to strengthen cooperation among partners, increase networking, promote cultural exchange and highlight the value of the Erasmus+ programme and Youthpass as tools for recognising competences gained through non-formal learning. The project IMPRODRAMA 4.0 aims to develop trainers and facilitators competences in using theatrical methodology for youth empowerment which could be integrated to non-formal and formal education systems at local level.
