"Heart-to-heart with Yourself: Youth Workers Training on Self-Care" was a Key Action (KA1) mobility of youth workers project aimed at equipping youth workers with essential self-care practices for their personal growth and as a preventive measure against burnout. The project was implemented in a 8-day program that engaged and empowered 25 dedicated youth workers associated with or collaborating with partner organizations. These individuals represented 10 different organizations from five countries: Poland, Spain, Romania, Estonia, and Ukraine. The project acknowledged the critical role youth workers played in the development and well-being of young individuals within their communities. It recognized that youth work, while rewarding, could also be emotionally and mentally demanding, often leading to stress, burnout, and diminished well-being. To address these challenges, "Heart-to-heart with Yourself" provided youth workers with practical tools, knowledge, and skills to prioritize their self-care. By nurturing their mental and emotional well-being, participants enhanced their own quality of life and continued making positive contributions to the young people they served. The project aimed to create a ripple effect of well-being and resilience within the youth work community, fostering a healthier and more effective support system for young individuals across Europe. The specific objectives of the mobility were: 1. To increase participants' awareness of the importance of self-care in their personal and professional lives as youth workers. 2. To provide knowledge and understanding of various self-care strategies and techniques through interactive workshops and practical exercises. 3. To equip participants with practical tools and skills to manage their well-being and prevent burnout, enabling them to implement these strategies in their daily lives. 4. To motivate participants to prioritize self-care as an essential aspect of their work with young people by incorporating self-care practices into their routines and promoting long-term well-being and resilience. 5. To demonstrate the influence of supportive communities and social networks on well-being, providing participants with the competence to build such networks through group activities and interactive discussions. 6. To expand participants' abilities to self-reflect and build self-awareness, enabling them to identify their own needs and develop personalized self-care plans for implementation. 7. To enhance participants' abilities to support and guide young people in developing their self-care practices through training in facilitation techniques and sharing best practices. 8. To build professional networks to exchange experiences with other youth workers, creating spaces for mutual support and learning on a local and international level. 9. To contribute to the overall improvement of the quality and effectiveness of youth work by integrating self-care into the training curriculum and promoting its importance in the field.
