Objectives

By implementing the QUEST-ON project, we wanted to achieve several key goals. First and foremost, we aimed to respond to the interest and repeated requests from youth workers who had participated in our previous projects, where coaching and mentoring sessions proved to be highly appreciated and transformative. The objective was to create a dedicated space to explore and develop these skills more deeply. The QUEST-ON project aimed to create a meaningful, transformative learning experience that would not only benefit youth workers but also have a lasting impact on the young people they support. It also helped youth workers to reconnect with their core values and purpose, ensuring they remain grounded and resilient in their work with young people. To ensure a holistic and complex approach, we based our training on the Dilts pyramid, which claims that every situation can be viewed, analyzed and solved on different levels and, depending on it, with different outcomes. During the described project we will learn specific tools to work on each of the levels identified by Dilts: - Environment, - Behaviour, - Skills/Capabilities, - Beliefs, - Values, - Identity, - Mission/Purpose. Each day of the training was dedicated to one of the levels described above. We have learned specific, tangible, but also diverse coaching/mentoring tools to work on each level, exploring not only methods based on conversation, but also those which include art, connection with nature or physical movement. The name QUEST-ON was related to asking questions as well as questioning our assumptions and beliefs - both crucial in successful coaching/mentoring work. It was also an invitation to join the quest - search and journey into personal and professional development on a deeper level. NEEDS: 1.Developing and learning tools which help to work with young people on their needs, skills, beliefs, values, identity or/and life purpose. 2.Exchanging experiences in supporting young people in the challenging times we are living in. 3. Reviewing our own values, beliefs, mission and life purpose and extent to which they are present in our current life and work. 4. Building long-lasting motivation based on values, identity, mission and life purpose and preventing potential burn out. OBJECTIVES: 1.Equipping youth workers with a wide range of diverse coaching and mentoring tools which can support their work with young people on various levels of the Dilts pyramid (connected to needs 1 and 2). 2. Developing youth workers’ skills crucial in leading successful coaching/mentoring sessions with young people, by developing and/or improving essential skills such as: deep listening, identifying and adequately reacting to emotions, communication including giving feedback or mirroring (connected to needs 1 and 2). 3.Creating opportunities for youth workers to work on themselves, reviewing their own behaviors, beliefs, values, mission and life purpose, which may have significantly changed in the recent years after events such as the pandemic or the war in Ukraine (connected to needs 3 and 4).
