The aim of the project was primarily to increase young people’s engagement in public life and to strengthen their sense of influence over their immediate environment. The project addressed the issue of low civic participation among youth, which often results from a lack of knowledge about available participation mechanisms and insufficient confidence in their own abilities. The intention was not only to familiarize young people with how local initiatives function, but also to actively involve them in creating and implementing such initiatives. The main objective of the project was to increase the active participation of young people aged 16–25 in the Participatory Budget of the city of Krakow. At the same time, the project pursued several specific objectives focused on the comprehensive development of young people. These included the development of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and creativity, which are essential both in social activities and in the labour market. An important aspect was also improving cooperation between the organizations involved in the project and the authorities of partner cities, which supported the building of sustainable relationships and better alignment of activities with local needs. The project also aimed to foster dialogue between different groups of young people, creating space for exchanging opinions, experiences, and jointly developing solutions. Another key objective was to increase young people’s self-confidence and their readiness to initiate social change, enabling them to become active and conscious participants in civic life.
