Many projects and activities of our organization included elements of participatory activities, and the topic of including young people in decision-making processes was repeatedly raised in our work with young people. The youth witnessed and participated in participatory activities within the framework of local cooperation, which our foundation places great emphasis on, considering it an important tool ensuring high quality of activities. The youth experienced how, in cooperation with local government, institutions and organizations, larger events can be efficiently organized (e.g. charity concert "Erasmus for Ukraine" in the Grybów amphitheater, pro-ecological campaign on the market square in Zator, photographic exhibitions on topics that concern the local community, performances, campaigns for collecting and properly segregating waste - ecowalking). Hence, there was a need for young people to deepen their knowledge and explore mechanisms of local cooperation in order to find a way to increase participation and use this knowledge for future pro-social activities, including: in our foundation. By organizing workshops as part of the project, we wanted to support an increase in the level of participation in local cooperation among young people aged 18-30 from Poland and Ukraine and to disseminate the knowledge and conclusions acquired during these workshops. It was a response to the need of young people gathered around our foundation to increase youth participation in local cooperation. This need crystallized during the implementation of previous projects in 2019-2023, including Erasmus+ youth mobility educational projects. These projects were implemented in special places in Małopolska where local cooperation is visible and produces results in the form of a strong local product and local brand. The main goal of the project is to support youth participation in local cooperation through the "Summer Academy of Local Cooperation 2024" workshops for 80 people aged 18-30 from Poland and Ukraine and by disseminating knowledge and conclusions gained at workshops during the conference for 120 young people aged 13-25. years from the local community. Specific objectives: - increasing knowledge and competences in the field of youth participation in local cooperation, - decision-makers' interest in young people's participation in decision-making processes, - engaging the local youth community around a local product, brand and local traditions, - increase in media skills and digital competences of participants and staff, - increasing tolerance, non-discrimination and debunking stereotypes, - development of entrepreneurship and the ability to take independent initiatives, - acquiring knowledge of European programs, obtaining external funds to implement ideas, - development of organizations based on European values in the process of building integrated European communities.
