The theme of the Voice of Youth Matters project concerns local youth policy as a space for civic democracy, conscious and responsible participation in social life and a forum for articulating local youth problems and a mechanism for sensitising policy-makers to young people's issues and influencing their decisions. The project is designed to prepare young people to engage in civic activity, to open them up to social activism carried out in cooperation with local government centres, and to support activities and develop methods to increase their influence on local youth politics. Young people from the Municipality of Gostyn for the moment need support and training in their leadership and participatory competences and in the diagnosis of their personality predispositions. A series of training courses, workshops and discussion panels will enable them to do this. Youth policy, both in the Municipality of Gostynin and in the region as a whole, has long been in need of systemic action. Along with increasing the level of participatory and leadership competences, young people will jointly carry out an in-depth diagnosis of the needs, problems, ideas for solving important issues concerning both their generation and more broadly the entire local community. After compiling the results of their research, they will invite local decision-makers and youth policy experts into dialogue through the panel discussions "Youth and Decision-Makers Forum - Shaping Our Community Together". The meetings aim to develop common solutions on how to further youth-decision makers, promote local youth activities. All bottom-up recommendations of the youth of the Gostyn Municipality will be collected in inspiring audiovisual materials such as a film and a podcast. Through the project we want to achieve the following goals: - develop participatory skills, increase democratic awareness and inspire young people to get involved in the local and European community, - enable young people from the Gostynin Youth Town Council to take part in inspiring workshops that will equip them to develop a tool for diagnosing the needs of the local community and creating action plans for positive change, - give young people the opportunity to actively participate in shaping their environment and to have a real impact on the shape of local youth policy, - create an interactive platform for dialogue between young people from the Gostyń Youth Town Council and decision makers who shape the future of our community, - strengthen the trust and cooperation between young people and decision-makers to effectively bring about change in the community, - broaden young people's horizons, enable them to get to know the European Union institutions and European culture, which will contribute to their better understanding of the EU's activities and the promotion of European values.
