Objectives

The main objective of the “No Judgement Zone” project was to increase awareness and understanding of gender identity and sexual orientation among young people, while promoting inclusive attitudes and reducing discrimination towards LGBTQIA+ individuals. The project aimed to strengthen the competences of youth workers, educators and organisations by providing them with practical tools, methodologies and educational resources based on non-formal learning. Through this, they were better equipped to create safe, inclusive and supportive environments for young people. Another key objective was to support the personal development and self-awareness of young people, especially those from the LGBTQIA+ community, by fostering acceptance, empathy and open dialogue. The project also aimed to develop innovative and accessible educational outputs, including a guide, a toolkit and a digital platform with video content, ensuring long-term usability and wide dissemination. Finally, the project sought to strengthen international cooperation between partner organisations and contribute to building more open, respectful and inclusive communities.

Background

The “No Judgement Zone” project was developed in response to the need for reliable and inclusive education on gender identity and sexual orientation among young people. Many young people are still exposed to biased, outdated or incorrect information, as well as stereotypes present in media and education, which contribute to discrimination, exclusion and negative attitudes towards LGBTQIA+ individuals. As a result, many young people face bullying, isolation and difficulties in self-acceptance. At the same time, youth workers and educators often lack practical tools and methods to address these topics in a safe and engaging way. The project addressed these needs by providing innovative, non-formal education tools and resources, supporting youth workers in their work and promoting awareness, empathy and inclusion. It also aimed to foster cooperation between organisations and contribute to building more open and respectful communities.
