Objectives

By implementing the project “Eat, Sleep, Hiking” we aimed to shift young people's perceptions about leading a healthy lifestyle, emphasizing that it is accessible to everyone. The project was created to inspire young individuals to engage more in outdoor activities and develop unique habits that help reduce anxiety. By exploring the benefits of healthy eating, physical activity, and mental well-being, the project strived to equip participants with practical tools and knowledge to live healthier lives. The main objectives of the project were: - to explore healthy eating, nutrition, eating on a budget, food-wasting, effects of food and sport on the body, and unhealthy lifestyle and eating habits - using non-formal learning methods, provide new skills and tools for participants to challenge the health and sports problems identified during the activity that are relevant in each of the participant countries - to exchange ideas about what is being mentally healthy for each of us by using non-formal methods - to raise awareness among youth about the benefits of exercise for mental health - to encourage youth to live healthy lifestyles and teach them modern tools - to help youth reduce the amount of stress through a healthy lifestyle while involving them in various sports activities, team-building games, and teaching healthy habits - to learn how to live on a budget and learn how not to waste resources by creating a common mind map We also aimed to provide participants with digital skills, teaching them how to create and edit media content. By bringing together individuals from six different countries, the project encouraged intercultural exchange and helped break down cultural barriers, fostering mutual understanding. Inclusivity was a key priority, with a strong emphasis on involving young people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. The project aligned with Erasmus+ objectives. During the activities, non-formal educational methods were used to develop skills, raise awareness of important social issues like health, and encourage peer learning. It also integrated EU values and aimed to mitigate the socio-economic and educational impacts of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, especially by supporting Ukrainian refugees and those affected by the conflict. This inclusive project brought together participants from diverse backgrounds, including young people with fewer opportunities and Ukrainian refugees, while raising awareness about the war in Ukraine.
