This project proposal was jointly developed by InnoEdu (RO) and our European partners in response to the rise of racism addressing populism and migrant crisis in the EU. The initiative responds to the needs of young people in our organisations, drawing on partners’ experience with intercultural learning tools such as music, dance, and other art forms. By integrating these creative methods, the project seeks to strengthen young people’s ability to resist prejudice through intercultural dialogue and artistic expression. It contributes to promoting intercultural communication and anti-racism practices among youth by using music as a tool to enhance the quality of youth services in partner countries, particularly in the field of intercultural dialogue, and by integrating such dialogue into youth projects across Europe. The project pursued the following objectives, closely aligned with Erasmus+ priorities and values: The project aimed to support 66 young people from diverse cultural backgrounds in strengthening their intercultural competence while actively promoting European values of diversity, tolerance, and respect for human rights. By empowering participants to engage constructively in multicultural environments, the initiative fostered their active citizenship and prepared them to act as community leaders in line with Erasmus+ objectives. To reinforce the quality of youth work, the project enhanced the capacities of 11 youth organisations to implement innovative non-formal learning methods. Music, as a universal language, was used as a creative tool to encourage cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, and anti-racism practices, directly supporting Erasmus+ priorities of inclusion and active participation. The development of guidelines for using music in daily youth work activities provided concrete, transferable tools for fostering intercultural dialogue across Europe. This initiative not only promoted the transversal skills of young people but also highlighted cultural diversity as a valuable resource for society, in accordance with Erasmus+ values. Furthermore, through the creation of a collaborative Photoblog focused on music as an informal learning method, the project empowered young individuals to combat racism, celebrate diversity, and share the cultural legacy of partner nations. By equipping participants with practical skills for inclusive communication and understanding, the project strengthened their ability to contribute meaningfully to multicultural societies while reinforcing Erasmus+ as a key instrument for youth participation and European citizenship.
