Objectives

This project was a continuation of a previous youth exchange that addressed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since that mobility was a success, we considered it important to further explore other SDGs, as it would have been too superficial to address all of them in one exchange (and some had remained uncovered). While the first exchange focused on environmental issues, this youth exchange centered on economic and social challenges, still inherently tied to sustainability. The Sustainable Development Goals tackled were: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. Through this mobility, we aimed to develop young people's strategic thinking and key competences, especially civic ones (such as responsibility and European citizenship), by motivating them to act for the benefit of their communities and the environment. We also aimed for young people to come up with solutions to socio-economic and environmental problems faced by their communities. During the mobility, participants analyzed the situation of the five SDGs in their own countries through presentations, discussions, and non-formal learning methods. They developed solutions to help achieve these goals and created an action plan, which was promoted both in a local school and online to encourage positive change in the community. The specific objectives achieved were: Raising awareness among the 34 participants (including 1 facilitator) about the importance of getting involved in solving community issues: through their participation in various activities: a presentation by the mayor on local SDG implementation, visits to restaurants, a presentation on aid sent to Ukraine, simple cooking, a field visit to a sustainable tourism example, and visits to both a small industrial company and a high-tech one; through exchanging knowledge about the SDGs; through the creation and promotion of 5 TikTok videos related to the SDGs: https://www.tiktok.com/@aacs_ngo/video/7415529085654420769 https://www.tiktok.com/@aacs_ngo/video/7415527602712087840 https://www.tiktok.com/@aacs_ngo/video/7415528167525338400 https://www.tiktok.com/@aacs_ngo/video/7415528576876842273 https://www.tiktok.com/@aacs_ngo/video/7415529628221066528 through the development and wide promotion of the action plan: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CGN_QPGmU9vxArcNpO_W7UbuOSalv9Ux/view Developing key competences among the 34 participants, including 15 with fewer opportunities (due to economic and cultural backgrounds), and validating their progress through 27 issued Youthpass certificates (not all participants requested one). Competences developed included digital skills, literacy, multilingualism, civic responsibility, and positive awareness of other cultures. Encouraging intercultural understanding between the five participating countries through cultural activities and national evenings, helping participants build tolerance, empathy, and a deeper appreciation of the importance of preserving cultural values to support European multiculturalism. Raising public awareness about the issues tackled in the youth exchange through several tools: the 5 TikTok videos published on the association’s page, the action plan, and a local event organized for students and school representatives.
