Act for YOUnity was a youth exchange project through which we addressed the topic of social inclusion and cohesion. By implementing the project, we helped and prompted young people to develop and promote non-discriminatory and equitable behaviors, to engage in social and civic matters, to feel empowered to take action for their own integration and inclusion of their peers. Our specific objectives for the project were: 1. To encourage young people to overcome discriminatory barriers and collaborate based on values that unite them, through project activities which involved 32 young people facing risks of discrimination and exclusion, followed by educational events in each community. 2. To motivate participants' civic activism and support of social inclusion causes, analyzing 6 current issues from their communities and creating materials to help raise awareness on these issues - 6 photo collages, 2 posters, 1 brochure, having over 3000 views. 3. To foster socially responsible behaviors and the sense of equity to the 48 participants, further promoting these attitudes through the materials that were created in the project to other 8000 youngsters. Act for YOUnity project was in line with the objectives and priorities of the Erasmus+ program, as well as with the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, since through it we educated and contributed to integration of young people, increased their level of involvement in society and active participation, promoted European core values of inclusion, solidarity, and equity.
