Objectives

The study, work, and action of storytelling are truly multidisciplinary. Storytelling can be used to influence the various audiences (whether electorates or customers), to learn and enrich knowledge and skills, to effectively share experiences and methods of work, to define personal and organizational identities, and to formulate, check, and reformulate political, economic, and marketing decisions. Storytelling is important in developing a social and professional identity, as well as a global sense of being in the world. Stories deserve more attention because they play such an important role in people's lives. Exploring their meanings helps humans better understand their surroundings. This is especially important for young people because they are learning about history in a dry manner, without understanding the larger context, making it more difficult to understand the present or predict the future. For young people, storytelling can make learning more interactive and enjoyable. It can stimulate their interest and make them more open to new experiences. The partner organizations used storytelling in their non-formal learning activities, which proved effective in the learning process. As a result of recognizing its potential and responding to the requests of young people from the four partner NGOs, the idea for this project was born. They were eager to learn about other cultures and gain a better understanding of them. However, they had few opportunities to interact with people from other countries or to communicate in foreign languages with natives. As a result, empowering them to participate in a transnational YE provided them with the opportunity to better understand the present and culture through storytelling. The participants' needs included a lack of understanding of different cultures and a lack of interaction with people from other countries. People live immersed in stories, and their reality is shaped by them every day. Young people needed to become more aware of how these stories are created, their consequences, and how they can better understand the world by delving into their meanings. Stories have existed since the beginning of time, but only in recent years has storytelling received increased attention from various domains, ranging from marketing and advertising to education and visual arts. As a result, young participants were eager to learn how to use it because it would provide them with essential skills for their future careers. The goal of the project was to facilitate intercultural dialogue and collaboration through the method of storytelling among 40 young participants and partner organizations from four diverse communities in Romania, Greece, Cyprus, and Spain. Specific objectives of the project were: 1. To create an intercultural environment in which 40 young participants from RO, GR, CY, and ES shared myths, legends, and folklore tales to better understand their cultures; 2. To boost the creativity of the 40 participants (direct beneficiaries) to use storytelling to share the project results and Erasmus+ opportunities with a minimum of 100 young people (indirect beneficiaries) from the four countries; 3. To strengthen the partner organizations' capacity to collaboratively organize a KA1 YE project and develop new ties as the foundation for a long-term partnership between the four partners.
