Diversity stands as a fundamental value for the European Union, encapsulated by the motto "United in Diversity." The EU not only acknowledges this diversity but also recognizes it as a wellspring of strength. Regrettably, 'diversity' within the context of youth life in Europe often means distressing levels of discrimination. This reality is particularly pronounced among marginalized groups, constituting a significant challenge. According to a study conducted by Equinet Europe, involving 46 organizations across 34 European countries, it was found that 53.8% of youth (aged 16-25) in Europe have encountered discrimination in the realm of education, 42.40% in the workplace, 29.9% while seeking accommodation, and 26.6% within healthcare settings. These disparities arise from various factors such as sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, disability, and more. The discrimination faced by young people can have lasting implications, profoundly affecting their health and socieal inclusion. Unfortunately, such discrimination can even lead to severe consequences, including instances where youth contemplate or, tragically, carry out acts of self-harm or suicide, as highlighted in the 'Overview of Youth Discrimination in the European Union Report.' This is not only the reality of some countries in the EU, but also, and relevant for this application, the reality that the youth organizations that form this partnership are facing. In this context, a necessity emerges: to confront disparities and foster the social inclusion of young people, especially those encountering discrimination and are marginalized. MAIN NEEDS of YOUTH WORKERS that we have identified (more details will be offered in a later section): -Training and education about the solutions to various forms of discrimination -Innovative methodology for empowering the development of (marginalized) youth -Competences about how to generate social inclusion of (marginalized) youth -Skills for mentoring youth’s unfolding uniqueness MAIN NEEDS of marginalized YOUNG PEOPLE: -Support in feeling a sense of safety and belonging (inclusion) -Identifying and accessing their inner uniqueness resources and capacities -Support in connecting and developing their sense of agency, self-worth, and power The REASON we want to undertake this project to respond to the growing needs of young people and foster an inclusive culture that appreciates and needs the uniqueness and diversity of each individual. We created the project ‘Earth Embodied Elixir’ that AIMS at enhancing the capacities of youth workers in fostering social inclusion and empowerment among marginalized and discriminated young people to shape their unique destinies through the innovative and high-quality non-formal methodologies rooted in Eco-Soulcentric Education and Somatic Education. SOMATIC EDUCATION is an education approach to learning and personal development that focuses on the body's experiences, sensations, movements, and awareness as a pathway to enhance one’s life. The practices of somatic education are not just about being aware of the body but being aware as a body. Cultivating somatic awareness can be the greatest resource to prevent injury and promote overall health and wellbeing. Through these practices one can get in touch with wise, authentic and innocent answers for the questions of their life. ECO-SOULCENTRIC EDUCATION is an education approach based on the revolutionary and interdisciplinary concept of Psychology inspired by nature and the human soul. The concept focuses on the unique inner and outer resources and the creative potential each individual owns, inviting young people into deep processes of self-knowing, healthy development and contribution to the community. The concept, rooted in the wisdom of Nature and in the latest discoveries of psychology, offers a radical and sustainable map for understand behavioural patterns. Above all, it offers a promising invitation for sustainable and healthy transformation from youth to adulthood, from the self to the world.
