Since industrial revolution, the machines and technology released the humans from hard and exhausting tasks, still regardless this modernism, lighter work and fast way of leaving the life, we all suffer, and environment is more and more exploited and neglected. We all should take initiatives and be aware of the situation, and start to diminish our carbon foot print. There are always solutions, sometimes a solution exists right under our eyes but we are not aware, or we do not know others already use the method or tool, sometimes methods appears as a necessity or lack of resources. Same is for the green methods to be used in youth work. Within this project we would like to plant the seed and expect to collect the fruits in waves. So the objectives of the project are: Increase the understanding for the youth workers of their carbon footprint Empower youth workers to create green activities in their communities and become change agents in their communities Equip youth workers to increase their knowledge of green methods Developing new green methods by creating metaphoric green cards to be used in youth work. Develop and strengthen cooperation between different European organizations that are active and interested in environmental issues We choose to educate youth workers so they would be able to educate and influence youth, in this way, a higher amount of people will benefit from this project. We choose that, beside educating the youth workers, to create together new green methods and share the best practice within the group and then on-line with other youth workers and persons interested in green methods. So, within this project we want to answer to the need of raising awareness of the ecological issues we all are facing in our communities, the need of equally informing and educating youth workers, the need of having free access to diverse green methods and tools to use in the youthwork. In this project we follow the EU youth strategy so we: Engage, Connect and Empower. We tackle firstly the 10th youth goal so we will ensure that everyone attending the mobility and including the young people from each local community knows the effect of their actions on the environment. Moreover, within the mobility we will also tackle other youth goals such as Connecting EU with Youth, offer Equality of All Genders and Space and Participation for All, promote Inclusive Societies and Moving Rural Youth Forward and last but not least, will connect Youth Organisations & European Programmes The key purpose of youth work is to: 'Enable young people to develop holistically, working with them to facilitate their personal, social and educational development, to enable them to develop their voice, influence and place in society and to reach their potential' With “Engage” the EU Youth Strategy aims towards a meaningful civic, economic, social, cultural and political participation of young people. Within the project we actively engage youth workers and youth organizations in a topic that is affecting the lives of young people on all levels; we support and develop opportunities for ‘learning to participate’, raising interest in participatory actions and helping youth workers to prepare their youth to increase awareness and be involved in environmental protection, to be ambassadors of change and why not possible creators of environmental campaigns. We invite the youth workers to explore and promote the use of innovative and alternative forms for fighting climate change. "People in Europe are getting more and more connected. Connections, relations and exchange of experience are a pivotal asset for solidarity and the future development of the European Union. This connection is best fostered through different forms of mobility." In the mobility we enable access for all interested youth workers to cross-border mobility opportunities, by eliminating obstacles and implementing support measures with special attention to youth workers with fewer opportunities; we actively engage youth workers and youth organizations in the design, implementation and evaluation of green method that can be used in youth work and influence the youth from the community in a greener and positive way, the youth workers will also share best practices and put in practice in further work on effective levels. The 3rd key is empowerment of young people which "means encouraging them to take charge of their own lives. Today, young people across Europe are facing diverse challenges and youth work in all its forms can serve as a catalyst for empowerment." In this mobility youth workers gain competences to empower the youth, and to support youth to take a greater role in their environmental life, and be able to take a greater personal responsibility for their life styles.
