The project aimed to create an authentic, creative, and intercultural exchange for young people through dance, transforming experiential learning into the development of transferable skills, particularly soft skills. It sought to counter the pressure young people face to conform to unrealistic beauty and body ideals by offering an alternative avenue for self-expression, creativity, and personal growth. Dance, as a physical, creative, cognitive, and social activity, was chosen for its profound positive effects on physical and mental health. Participants explored their bodies as tools for communication, expressed emotions, and developed a sense of belonging. The project aligned with EU themes of inclusive societies and sustainable green Europe. Held in a rural camp, it emphasized sustainability and connection to nature. Participants engaged in activities like hiking, building dams, and interacting with locals, fostering self-development and a deeper connection to nature. The rural setting, free from urban distractions, allowed participants to reconnect with themselves and their surroundings, enhancing their physical and emotional well-being. Intercultural and transgenerational learning, though not the primary focus, emerged naturally through interactions with locals, including shepherds, farmers, and children. These exchanges enriched the participants' understanding of different lifestyles. The project was inclusive, welcoming participants from underdeveloped regions, economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and marginalized groups (LGBTQ+, ethnic minorities, religious communities), providing a safe space for expression and belonging. In conclusion, the project achieved its goals by providing a transformative experience through dance, nature, and community. It fostered personal development, creative expression, and soft skills acquisition, while promoting inclusivity and sustainability. The project’s success lies in its lasting impact on participants, who left with renewed confidence, creativity, and a sense of belonging.
