The Youth for Environmental Action (YFE) project was created to tackle the most pressing environmental issues by equipping young people with the knowledge and abilities they need to make a difference. The main objective was to raise a generation of environmentally conscious individuals who would make a meaningful contribution to sustainable development. The project had several goals. The main goal of the project was to increase young participants' awareness of pressing global environmental issues, including pollution, climate change, biodiversity loss, and the value of sustainable practices. This was achieved by understanding carbon footprints, taking active civic action and becoming engaged citizens. The project's goal was to make participants aware of how their daily activities affect the environment and what they can do to mitigate the harmful effects. Fostering international cooperation was also an important goal of the project. We aimed to promote international cooperation and cultural exchange between young people from different countries as a natural outcome of Erasmus Plus projects. By bringing together participants from Sweden, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and Italy, we created a platform for sharing different perspectives and experiences on environmental action, integrating mixed group activities, creating a space for everyone to share their ideas and experiences, reflecting their cultures. We also achieved this by organising intercultural nights held along the mobility activity. Finally, the project aimed to empower young people to take an active role in environmental decision-making processes. Participants were encouraged to become environmental leaders in their communities and to advocate for sustainable policies and practices. This project has certainly equipped participants with the skills needed to take effective environmental action, including active campaign management, teamwork, problem solving and communication skills. Through hands-on activities, games and workshops, participants developed the skills to plan and implement environmental active campaigns in their communities.
