Objectives

This project with our organizations, Unga Berättar and ZMŠT, aimed at the following: - fostering collaboration; - facilitating the exchange of knowledge and competences; - broadening our international network; - developing a comprehensive Handbook. Through this first project, we wished to lay the foundation for future mobility initiatives involving young people, where we would be able to implement the materials we created in this project and co-design mobility applications with new partners and young participants. We identified four main needs and objectives respectively, in the planning phase of our project: 1. Need: Both organizations seek to broaden their international network and understanding of different approaches to youth engagement. Objective: Enhanced international collaboration - Strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange between Unga Berättar and ZMŠT to broaden their international network and expertise in youth engagement. 2. Need: There is a need for a resource that provides innovative and engaging methods to effectively involve young people in creative projects. Objective: Innovative handbook creation - Developing a comprehensive Handbook, combining creative approaches and activities, to engage young people in various projects at local, national, and international levels. 3. Need: A desire to share and learn from each other's experiences and best practices in youth work, particularly emphasizing creative methodologies and effective evaluation techniques. Objective: Promoting best practices and learning - Facilitate cross-organizational learning and sharing of best practices in youth work, emphasizing creative methodologies, team building, and effective evaluation techniques. 4. Need: Establishing a solid foundation for future collaborations and partnerships, aiming for sustained engagement with both current and potential partners. Objective: Sustainable future partnerships - Lay the foundation for sustainable partnerships by fostering a strong working relationship, paving the way for future collaborative projects and a potential youth mobility initiative. Furthermore, through conducting needs assessments, we could reach the following conclusions as to how the project would align within our respective organizations: - For Unga Berättar it was about initiating strategic collaborations, organizational goals such as reaching a wider participant base each year, providing new ways for young individuals to express themselves and actively engage in society, involving young people in cultural activities both locally and internationally, promoting diversity and cultural understanding, exploring different funding strategies such as the Erasmus+ programme and thus also staying informed about various European opportunities, and nurturing sustained partnerships for future collaboration. - For ZMŠT it was about skill enhancement and knowledge sharing, by building competences in youth work, by applying and the practical implementation of the project, as well as employing the acquired knowledge to amplify the engagement of youth workers with young individuals, methods of empowerment to motivate and involve unorganized youth in the local community, incorporating insights from the project into various aspects (present and future) of youth work to ensure a lasting impact. Our needs and objectives were connected to the following within the Erasmus+ programme objectives: - Promoting skills and competences: the project aimed to equip youth workers in Sweden and Slovenia with new competences through collaborative efforts. This would contribute to skill development and focus on non-formal learning. - Fostering international cooperation: by establishing a community of youth workers across borders, the project wished to contribute to fostering international cooperation and exchange of good practices among organizations and participants from different countries. - Enhancing local and national impact: The project also aimed to improve local youth work, which in turn will have an impact on a national level. This would contribute to quality improvement in youth work, emphasizing high-quality practice.
