The project aimed to strengthen the active participation of young people with lived migration experiences in the public and democratic sphere at local, national and European levels. A core objective was to empower young representatives of youth migrant-led organisations and develop their capacities in organisational management, accompanying them in spreading these skills within their organisations and local communitiesThrough targeted trainings, peer learning and a multiplication process, the project supported young leaders to act as multipliers within their communities and organisations. Another key objective was to share and promote recommendations and best practices on organisational management among youth migrant-led organisations while strenghtening their network of self-led organisations. By conducting a wide EU consultation and developing shared advocacy tools, the project aimed to collaboratively produce policy recommendations and advocate for the political participation of youth with lived migration experiences. Finally, the project aimed to facilitate advocacy actions and dialogue with key stakeholders, contributing to more inclusive, participatory and representative democratic processes in the EU.
This project aimed to address the structural exclusion of young people with lived migration experiences from meaningful civic and democratic participation at local, national and EU levels. Although directly affected by public policies, they and their organisations often lack resources, capacity-building opportunities and access to representative decision-making spaces. When included, their participation is frequently tokenistic rather than based on equal partnership. The project responded by strengthening the organisational capacities of youth migrant-led organisations to operate sustainably, democratically and autonomously. Through targeted training, peer learning and the development of shared tools, it supported young leaders in building skills in organisational management, advocacy and community engagement. It also addressed the need for collective advocacy by facilitating consultations, producing policy recommendations and supporting youth-led advocacy actions. By reinforcing capacities and collaboration within the VOICIFY network, the project contributed to active citizenship, inclusion, democratic participation and a stronger sense of belonging to the European community among young people with lived migration experiences.
