Preventing racism and discriminationInclusion of marginalised young peopleDigital skills and competences

Objectives

Through the project, we wanted young people to learn about the terminology, topics and issues of racism. Through the project, young people gained new knowledge and motivation to fight racism. Our main goal of the youth exchange was to connect young people who wanted to expand their knowledge, had the motivation and will to promote a “World without Racism”. We successfully established a “safe space” for young people where they could share their experiences and stories related to this topic. Through the exchange, we achieved two main goals together with young people: we created a “safe space” for all participants and, through informal learning, introduced participants to the concept of racism and its issues. PROJECT GOALS THAT WE ACHIEVED: • We included 35 participants from 7 different countries in the exchange. • We successfully encouraged young people to co-create the concept of a “World without Racism”, where all people have the right to equal treatment and access to opportunities, regardless of race or ethnicity. We also encouraged them to actively engage in the fight against racism. Partner organizations and participants adopted and spread the slogan "A World Without Racism". • Young people became more aware of the concept of racism, prejudice and discrimination and understood the negative consequences of these phenomena. • We successfully connected and networked young people from different cultures and countries and created new friendships between participants through various games, parties, leisure activities and workshops. • Participants learned about the differences between the cultures of countries and other participants. • They explored and understood different views and developed tolerance between rural environments and larger cities through questionnaires. • Through the exchange, we also raised awareness among young people about the issue of racism via social networks.
