The project "Connecting Cultures: A Step Towards Integration" aims to address the complex challenges faced by migrants in host societies and promote their successful integration. This is the third project in a series, specifically designed to support youth workers who work with young migrants. Our goal is to enhance their skills and provide them with the tools necessary to better assist migrants in adapting to their new environment. One of the primary objectives of this project is to improve the understanding and approach to addressing housing issues faced by migrants. Many migrants struggle to find suitable and safe housing, which negatively affects their quality of life and hinders their integration into the local community. Through this project, we aim to ensure that young migrants have access to proper housing, providing them with a decent living environment and an opportunity to become a part of the host society. In addition to housing, we are focused on improving migrants' access to healthcare services. Migrants often face barriers in accessing healthcare, whether due to language difficulties or a lack of information about available services. Our goal is to ensure that all young migrants have equal access to quality healthcare and information crucial to their physical and mental well-being and overall development. Mental health is another key area addressed by this project. Migrants are often exposed to traumatic experiences such as forced displacement, loss of home, and uncertainty about the future. It is therefore essential to provide them with adequate psychological support to help them cope with the mental challenges migration brings. The project also seeks to educate young migrants about their legal status and rights in host countries. Many migrants are not fully aware of their rights, which can lead to exploitation or marginalization. By educating youth workers, we aim to ensure that migrants are not only informed about their rights but are also empowered to exercise them actively. Finally, a major objective of the project is to promote integration policies that benefit both migrants and host communities. We believe that building bridges between different cultures and communities is vital to fostering mutual understanding and respect. Our approach includes activities that allow youth workers to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained directly in their work with migrants. This ensures that theoretical knowledge is transformed into practical tools that can be effectively used to support the integration process.
