With this project, we aimed to introduce youth workers to the technique of Contact Improvisation and its applicability in youth work, as we believe that working with movement and physical touch is an important and sensitive field that can significantly contribute to individuals' mental health, social inclusion, and healthy personal growth. Since dominant social structures often restrict and stigmatize physical contact, we wanted to introduce a new understanding and practice of touch as a medium for interpersonal communication, awareness, empathy, inclusion, and self-reflection. We presented the technique of Contact Improvisation and its philosophy to youth workers, providing them with innovative tools for activities in the field of social education and youth work. Through the presented methodology, we aimed to encourage the questioning and dismantling of social stigmas, explore various communication possibilities, expand experiential learning methods through physical practices, uncover numerous physical, emotional, and psychological benefits of physical contact, explore different forms and qualities of touch in artistic expression, broaden the applicability of contact-based practices in pedagogical work, and highlight their potential for social inclusion.
