Objectives

Young people’s mental health and wellbeing is a major concern today. Supporting youth in this area is essential, as adolescence and early adulthood are crucial stages for establishing healthy habits and behaviors that last into later life. For this reason, from the very preparation phase onward, the project focused on linking mental health with areas that were close to the interests and expertise of the Slovak and Armenian core teams. This ensured that the outcomes would not only address key challenges but also remain relevant and motivating for participants to continue beyond the lifetime of the project. The objectives of the project were defined as follows: 1. Developing competencies for dialogue with stakeholders and decision-makers. This was pursued by connecting participants with representatives from both the commercial and non-profit sectors, as well as with municipal and state institutions. These interactions highlighted the diversity of opportunities for creating active change and gave young people first-hand experience in constructive communication with different types of actors. 2.Fostering youth activism through awareness-raising campaigns. Core team participants designed and implemented 10+ awareness campaigns on mental health and wellbeing. Each campaign was designed by the teams themselves to ensure relevance for the chosen target group, helping participants to orient themselves in the topic while also addressing stigmas in their communities. 3.Strengthening digital competences for active citizenship. Through webinars workshops, Hackathon and Ideathon, participants explored both the opportunities and risks of digital tools. While they learned how mobile apps and digital solutions can support mental health, they also reflected on the negative impact of excessive screen time and practiced concrete techniques for maintaining balance. 4.Enhancing international cooperation between the EU and EECA regions. This objective was addressed during international mobilities, in online collaboration for a webinar, for joint Self-Care Journal and project other results producing, and through continuous exchanges of good practices. Joint initiatives not only built sustainable partnerships but also supported peer-to-peer learning across borders.
