Objectives

Our main starting point while planning this project was the increasing unemployment problem among young people. While discussing the difficulties experienced by young people both in Turkey and in our partner countries, we always encountered similar things: We saw that pessimistic attitudes such as not being able to find a job, feeling inadequate, and not being able to hope for the future have a strong impact on today's young people. We wanted to not only observe this situation, but also create a space where young people could come together to discuss this issue with their own experiences, produce ideas together, and gain strength from each other. Our aim was to provide an environment where young people could develop themselves both individually and socially. Unemployment should not be considered only as an economic issue. It is a multifaceted issue that directly affects self-confidence, motivation, social environment, and a person's life energy. Therefore, we tried to touch young people both emotionally and intellectually by taking this multifaceted structure into consideration in our workshops and events. We created serious learning outcomes and personal development opportunities behind many activities that seemed fun. Intercultural interaction was also very important to us. With the participants from Italy, Spain, Lithuania and Hungary, not only unemployment was discussed. At the same time, we had the opportunity to get to know each other's culture, respect differences and come together on common values. Every day of the project turned into a process where young people from different countries got closer to each other and understood each other better. This project, where young people could show their creativity, shoot TikToks, do theater, tour the city and write letters to each other, was not just an Erasmus exchange for us, but also a way to remember the hope, solidarity and potential of youth. The bonds formed at the end of the project were perhaps as important an achievement as the solution to unemployment. We think that pessimism is only an obstacle in the minds of young people. Going beyond safe areas in this regard and igniting personal development with courage was a reality we wanted to show to the participants. Understanding this reality and the participants' ability to improve themselves in terms of quality was actually directly related to their belief in themselves. In the events and workshops we held, we ensured that young people internalized the impact of personal development on both the socio-cultural fields and its contribution to multi-disciplinary work in terms of career development.
