Our project has been a journey showing how young people and youth workers can change their lives during a disaster. One of the main goals of our project was to raise awareness of disasters among youth organizations and their employees, increase risk perception and encourage active participation in pre-disaster preparation processes. Another goal of ours was to ensure that youth workers develop their knowledge and skills in disaster management and become qualified individuals who can intervene effectively in times of disaster and lead their communities. We aimed to ensure that youth organizations and youth workers are prepared for disasters and to support them in gaining effective disaster response experience. One of the most important features of our project was not only limited to theoretical training, but also to enable the participants to communicate one-on-one with organizations operating in developed countries on disaster management and conducting extensive studies in this field and to benefit from their experiences. In addition, we aimed to obtain information from different geographies about disasters that have occurred or have the potential to occur in different countries of Europe. With the project, we aimed to contribute to the production and implementation of accurate and effective social responsibility projects in the context of disaster response. We aimed to equip youth workers to be equipped to carry out effective non-formal education and awareness-raising activities on disaster prevention. We were pleased to observe that our project was progressing successfully in this field and that we achieved these results. In our project, we did not only focus on disaster preparedness. It also included gaining information from professionals about how healthy approaches should be taken when working with individuals who have experienced disasters. It contributed to youth workers improving their skills in working with different youth groups. Considering the importance as well as the difficulties of working with disadvantaged groups, we added case studies to our training mobility and, in line with these analyses, we included our expert trainers in the process in order to strengthen the participants' approaches to different young profiles they may encounter in real life. Our project aimed to emphasize the importance of post-disaster rehabilitation activities and to provide participants with experience on how to carry out these activities. We ensured that they were informed about the role and contribution of volunteers in the coordination of disaster support activities. In addition, we contributed to the achievement of Erasmus+ goals by enabling youth workers and organizations to meet and develop cooperation in the context of disaster relief.
