Objectives

To address these needs, we propose the "Learn by Adventure" Professional Development Activity (PDA). This program will train participants to effectively incorporate Outdoor Adventure Education elements into their daily work with young people, help them grasp its fundamental principles, develop educational modules tailored to their local context, and implement the values inherent in the OAE methodology with the young individuals they serve. The primary objective of the project is as follows: To enhance the quality and scope of youth work at both local and European/international levels by equipping youth workers and youth leaders with the competencies and tools of Outdoor Adventure Education for their work. The project sets forth the following objectives: -To advocate for Outdoor Education and experiential learning as effective, inclusive, and highly engaging learning methodologies in youth work. -To gain a deeper understanding of the diverse realities and contexts of disadvantaged young people with whom partner organizations work and explore the potential of using OAE in their support. -To deepen comprehension of key concepts in inclusive youth work, outdoor and experiential learning as effective methods in this regard. -To explore the role of youth workers and the potential of the natural environment in facilitating young people's learning and personal development. -To share best practices, tools, and methods within the group, relevant to participants engaged in education and youth work activities. -To explore opportunities for expanding networks and cooperation on this topic within the Erasmus+ program and beyond. -To enhance participants' soft skills and competencies relevant to their work with disadvantaged young people. -To provide training and enhance basic hard skills (such as trip planning, safety and first aid, risk management, etc.) needed for outdoor youth leadership. -To foster a deeper understanding of group processes and dynamics, intra and inter-personal awareness, and the role of the facilitator (in this context, the youth worker/youth leader) in these processes.
