Objectives

The social mediation project was created by MEBİVA and its partners upon the request for mediation, which was officially put into effect in Turkey in September and 12 thousand applications were made in the first 15 days. MEBİVA President Abdullah C. Makas, who served as Ombudsman, together with the Ombudsman Institution and Anadolu University, decided to raise awareness in this field, aiming to ensure that especially young people and their close circle learn about the phenomenon of social mediation theoretically and practically, and taking into account the need in this field in our country. The goals and objectives of our project can be summarized as follows: 1. Social Mediation Awareness: Our project aims to teach participants the concept of social mediation and create awareness about it. 2. Training Social Mediators: We aspire to train participants as social mediators, contributing to the reduction of social conflicts and the enhancement of social harmony. 3. Dissemination of Knowledge and Awareness: Through our project handbook and policy document, we intend not only to educate participants but also to inform their surroundings, local NGOs, and institutions about the field of social mediation. 4. Personal Development: Young participants will aim to boost their self-confidence, enhance their learning skills, and improve their digital literacy through their involvement in the project. 5. Active Citizenship: Participants will seek to develop active citizenship skills such as problem-solving, analytical thinking, and effective teamwork at every stage of the project. 6. European Union Values: Our project aims to provide participants with the opportunity to enrich their understanding of European Union citizenship values. 7. Knowledge and Documentation: Participants will acquire knowledge about Erasmus+ youth projects and have the opportunity to document their acquired skills with the Youthpass certificate. 8. Facilitating Employment: Post-project job search processes will be facilitated through the Youthpass certificate. 9. Societal Impact: The skills acquired in the project aim to positively impact both individual and societal aspects of young participants' lives, enhancing their self-confidence. 10. Informed Individuals: Through the project's created guides and information sharing, participants aim to become more informed individuals in the field of social mediation.
