Objectives

With our project, we will focus on providing accurate health awareness to individuals living in disadvantaged neighborhoods. The project aims to create awareness among disadvantaged individuals about socialization, health awareness, taking responsibility, and accessing healthcare. Regional workshops will be organized where young participants, partners, and decision-makers will come together to analyze problems and develop policy documents with proposed solutions. The term "disadvantaged groups" in our project refers to economically, geographically, and socially disadvantaged local residents living in refugee neighborhoods in Diyarbakır and Gaziantep provinces or those with limited access to hospitals. The project will target at-risk individuals, especially the elderly, disabled individuals, and other groups, to gain their trust and instill the understanding that their health and lives are important. With this awareness, disadvantaged individuals will be supported to take responsibility for their own health, become more proactive, and play an active role in the process. This awareness will be created through a two-stage process conducted by university students in their 3rd and 4th years of medical, dental, or nursing programs. They will perform health screenings and provide health information solely through verbal communication without physical intervention. This way, these students will gain valuable experience and boost their self-confidence through early internships and observations. As a result of the project, individuals living in disadvantaged neighborhoods will feel that the government values them and brings healthcare services to their doorstep. Additionally, disadvantaged local residents with limited access to hospitals will realize the importance the state attaches to them through these services. Students involved in these activities will be present in the field with badges displaying the logos and writings of the National Agency and the EU. This will help the public recognize the involvement of the EU and the National Agency in these activities. Within our project, priority will be given to students with limited opportunities, including those over 30 years old, and those who are disadvantaged. The main target audience for our project is young people aged 18-30, but participants outside this age range and from disadvantaged backgrounds will also benefit. Other objectives of our project include: -Encouraging participants to become active citizens by solving a problem. -Developing participants' soft skills, including problem-solving, empathy, communication, teamwork, and time management. -Developing the ability to collaborate with people from different cultures, fostering respect and cooperation. -Raising awareness of the priorities and objectives of the EU Youth Dialogue and acquiring awareness of European values. -Raising awareness about Erasmus+, ESC opportunities, and Youthpass certificates. -Motivating and building confidence in participating in national and international projects. -Contributing to the socialization and self-confidence of disadvantaged participants. -Establishing connections with various local, regional, and national institutions and organizations to produce a policy document. -Improving the capacities of institutions through the participation of young people. -Providing young people with a multicultural learning and experiential environment, working with decision-makers, young participants, disadvantaged families, academics, and NGOs. -Observing the alignment between the goals of the Erasmus+ program and our project's objectives and inspiring participants for future projects. -Providing practical experience for medical, dental, and nursing students at the university. -Boosting the self-confidence of students studying medicine, dentistry, and nursing. -Raising awareness among young people about social issues. -Fostering a sense of belonging to an EU project among young people and building confidence, encouraging participation, and acting as a bridge between young people and the EU. -Increasing and promoting the participation of all young people in society. -Ensuring that young people have better access to reliable information and supporting them in evaluating information critically and engaging in constructive dialogue. -Understanding and developing different learning methods to prepare young people for the challenges of a constantly changing life in the 21st century. -Strengthening young people's democratic participation and autonomy and providing them with special spaces in all areas of society. -Ensuring equal access for all young people to youth organizations and European youth programs, thus creating a society based on European values and identity.
