Our main goal in implementing this project was to increase awareness and consciousness among young people about climate change. We aimed to ensure that students studying at undergraduate and graduate levels in particular acquire scientifically based knowledge about the climate crisis, transfer this knowledge to policy-making processes, and take responsibility as climate advocates/activists. The concrete goals of the project were as follows: Increasing Climate Awareness: Ensuring that participating young people are informed about the causes, effects, and methods of combating climate change. Providing Policy Development Capacity: Increasing young people’s skills in developing policy proposals against climate change. Promoting Active Participation and Taking Responsibility: Ensuring that young people take on active roles in combating climate change by removing them from the position of spectators. Developing the Institutional Capacity of Partner Institutions: Strengthening the knowledge, experience, and network capacities of stakeholder institutions (universities, public institutions, local NGOs) involved in the project regarding combating climate change. Strengthening Inclusion and Participation: Including young people from different regions of Turkey, especially those living in cities affected by disasters, in the project and increasing their power of representation. In line with these goals, at the end of the project, young people were not only informed, but also raised as individuals who can take initiatives on environmental justice, sustainability and climate policies.
