Objectives

We applied for this project in response to the urgent need for youth-focused earthquake preparedness in vulnerable regions. Earthquakes have had devastating impacts in Türkiye and Italy, and young people-especially migrant and refugee youth-often lacked accessible, inclusive resources to cope with such crises. We aimed to strengthen disaster resilience by equipping youth not only with knowledge, but also with the confidence and tools to take action before, during, and after earthquakes. The project addressed key needs: raising awareness, reducing risk, promoting community engagement, and supporting psychosocial recovery. Through this initiative, we empowered youth as active agents of change, created digital tools, and developed a practical guidebook for youth workers. By leveraging each partner country's strengths in technology, community work, and youth well-being, we addressed a critical gap in disaster resilience through a transnational, inclusive, and innovative approach.
