Our DigitalCircle project aimed to equip young people with a range of digital skills and knowledge necessary for navigating the digital world. Through various digital platforms and technological tools, participants learned to locate, analyze, utilize, and produce information and content. Given the rapid expansion of technology and the increasing digitization of daily life, the project emphasized the importance of lifelong learning in this area. A key focus of the project was the labor market, where digital competencies have become essential. Acknowledging the significant influence of the internet on young people, the initiative sought to raise awareness about digital information challenges through digital campaigns, tutorials, and informative graphics. Since misinformation is widespread across various media platforms, often intentionally disseminated to gain visibility, in this point our project addressed these challenges by educating young people on media literacy and critical thinking. In the scope of our project, we have hosted 37 participants in an eight-day program focused on digital skill development between 14-22 September 2024 in Blue Whale Education Center. The activities improved their ability to create and manage digital content, as well as their understanding of ethical internet use and safety. Using non-formal learning methods, 37 participants engaged in structured activities to enhance their critical thinking and online safety awareness. Our mobility equipped them with essential skills to recognize and counteract misinformation. During the mobility, our participants initiated online awareness campaigns and different contents addressing our topic using different digital tools. Campaigns made by our participants, used by participants and partner organizations at follow up phase have been collected in Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EfV4wewkPvdKhlijP5gidDkUBlhOCuZO The contents made: - Phone addiction - #BeTheChange (youth activism in digital world) - Digital Activism - #StopBeerAbuse - Effect of Memes for raising awareness of young people In this campaign creation process, our participants explored, used, and learned from each other while working with various digital tools and apps such as InShot, Canva, Powtoon, Padlet, Trello and animated video content creators, and more.
