Young members in our center came up with the idea of "The Stage of Empathy" Erasmus+ project after they observe and realize similar experiences in other countries after exchanging ideas in other Erasmus+ meetings where they had chance to meet new friends. Our project aimed to address the pervasive issue of racism and discrimination against migrants across European countries, particularly focusing on the experiences of black people. We decided to use theater as a tool to have impact and raise awareness in our communities. Through collaboration with partner organizations, the project sought to empower young people aged 18–30 to combat racism through theater and artistic expression. Key points of the project included: - to raise awareness for the needs and challenges faced by young people in combating racism and promoting social inclusion. - Identifying the role of theater as a tool for fostering intercultural dialogue and solidarity. -Developing the theatrical capacity of participants to address racism and discrimination against migrants in their communities. - Engaging in intercultural dialogue to promote empathy, mutual respect, and social inclusion. - Encouraging collaboration and participation in youth initiatives, fostering connections, empowerment, and engagement among participants. Our project successfully equipped young people with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to challenge racism and discrimination, promote social inclusion, and foster empathy and solidarity within their communities.
