Objectives

The initiation of the "Give a BOOST to Young Migrants with Youth Work" initiative was prompted by the acknowledgment of the difficulties encountered by young migrants in assimilating into all aspects of society, including social, educational, civic, and economic domains. In response, the Council of Europe advocated for the implementation of youth work by Member States to support young refugees in their transition to adulthood, and our initiative aimed to address this recognized gap. The objectives of our project were to facilitate the sharing of best practices among eight organizations and youth workers, improve the knowledge and skills of 24 youth workers, and strengthen the capacity of partner organizations in youth work to better serve the needs of migrant and refugee youth. Moreover, the project aimed to foster European collaboration among partner organizations to support the dissemination of information, guidance, skill-building opportunities, volunteering, civic engagement, and employment prospects for young refugees, particularly those who had recently migrated from Ukraine. We cultivated collaborative relationships among participating groups and youth workers to develop a shared toolbox with the goal of empowering migrant adolescents through a variety of activities.
