The main goal of the project 'Mainstreaming Mental Health' was to raise awareness on the importance of mental health among young people and youth workers and contribute to breaking taboos that are still connected with opening the issue of mental health, even if in the context of youth work. We set the following project objectives that we aimed to meet through the professional development activity bringing together youth workers from Austria, Bulgaria, Spain, Romania, North Macedonia and Serbia: -to turn the attention to the mental health of young people and youth workers; -to share practices from participating countries related to raising awareness on the mental health of young people and improving the well-being of youth workers; -to increase the competencies of youth workers needed to open the talks with young people on mental health and wellbeing; -to reflect on the work of the organizations and brainstorm steps and approaches that the organizations would take to create environments positively impacting the mental health of young people and enabling them to share their concerns; -to provide the participants with an opportunity to develop new ideas for initiatives and projects addressing the issues of young people related to their mental health, well-being, dealing with stress and frustration; -to organize a discussion ‘Mental Health in Focus’ in each participating country online or offline open for young people from participating communities to increase their awareness of the importance of talking about well-being and mental health, -to gather good practices explored during the project and share them with others by publishing 'Booklet of Good Practices for Raising Awareness on Mental Health of Young People'.
