75 % of young people worldwide are concerned about the climate and their future. Many of them don't know how to take action. We wanted to change that with our We Grow Together 2024 project, by empowering young people from 10 countries to stand up for non-formal climate education and entrepreneurship. By learning learn from and with each other about important climate topics and developing their own ideas for change, we empowered young people to implement their own local activities and projects in an entrepreneurial, pro-active way. Thus, they experienced that their worries can be reduced by their own actions and activities for change in collaboration with like-minded peers. And they could make an impact by taking their ideas and activities for change into their local communities and develop their active European citizenship through learning by doing. The objectives of our project were as follows: Raising Awareness: Increasing awareness of inclusion and climate issues while highlighting the benefits of collaboration within a highly diverse youth community. Shared Concerns: Helping young people discover that they are not alone in their concerns about climate and inclusion challenges. Inspiring Action: Encouraging youth to take action in their local communities by learning from exemplary projects, engaging with like-minded peers, and participating in dialogue with decision-makers and partners to share visions and ideas for change, fostering collaboration and support. Practical Learning: Providing opportunities to learn from existing projects and startups about how to create inclusive climate solutions, particularly through hands-on experiences during the entire project and the 3-day YouthStart Event. Vision and Dialogue: Facilitating dialogue between young people and decision-makers to explore how they can share their (new) visions and ideas on key themes, co-create a shared vision, and develop an initial plan for collaboration. Sustained Engagement: Encouraging participation in the WGT community to ensure that, even after the conclusion of the WGT 2024 Project, participants can continue working on their change-making ideas alongside like-minded peers and supportive partners to create lasting impact.
