The project aimed to improve the quality of teaching and learning materials in the Afghan native languages Dari and Pashto for adult education in Europe. The focus was on developing a practical monitoring methodology that would enable Afghan organizations, in particular, to systematically review and further develop the effectiveness and comprehensibility of their materials. This was intended to strengthen the teaching skills of trainers and staff from Afghan organizations, empowering them to independently plan and implement high-quality educational programs. Furthermore, the transnational exchange of experiences and best practices established a common foundation for quality standards. Overall, the project aimed to professionalize educational programs for Afghan adults and make their learning processes more effective and sustainable.
This project was initiated to address the clearly identifiable shortcomings in educational opportunities for Afghan migrants in Europe. Many adult Afghans face significant challenges in accessing suitable learning opportunities, particularly due to language barriers, a lack of basic education, and inadequately adapted teaching and learning materials. Existing educational programs often fail to consider the specific needs of this target group, especially the delivery of content in their native languages, Dari and Pashto. At the same time, many Afghan organizations have limited capacity to develop high-quality materials. Our project aims to change this by strengthening the quality assurance of teaching and learning materials, thereby creating better learning conditions and greater educational opportunities for Afghan adults in the long term.
