Our main goal was to give young migrants the chance to grow into confident advocates for human rights in their own communities. We wanted them to develop practical skills like communication, teamwork, empathy, and critical thinking, so they could handle everyday challenges and take an active role in society. At the same time, we focused on supporting youth workers and volunteers by providing them with tools and methods that make their work with young migrants more effective. Through keynote sessions and creative workshops in art, music, and sport, we created spaces where young people could learn, express themselves, and build connections across cultures. We also aimed to promote active citizenship, break down stereotypes, and show the value of inclusive youth work. To keep the project sustainable, we used digital tools such as webinars and an online platform, and worked closely with partners from different countries to share experiences and build stronger networks.
We applied for this project because we observed significant gaps in young migrants’ awareness of human rights and their advocacy skills. In education, integration, and social participation, they often faced language barriers, discrimination, and prejudice. Youth workers also lacked adequate tools to support these groups effectively. We addressed these needs through the universal language of art, music, and sport, creating inclusive learning spaces and safe environments where young migrants could express themselves. In this way, we aimed at both individual empowerment and broader social cohesion. Our project was fully aligned with Erasmus+ priorities: we placed inclusion and diversity at the center, supported young migrants in active citizenship and democratic participation, and promoted digital transformation through online activities, an e-booklet, and a project website. By integrating environmental awareness into workshops, we also contributed to green objectives. Finally, through close cooperation with our partners, we enhanced the quality, innovation, and visibility of youth work at local and European levels.
