Our aim was to strengthen the expertise of staff and policy colleagues by learning about and integrating European good practices into our operations, building sustainable partnerships, and observing and applying methods and techniques. For example for using assessments and setting up sensory rooms. In order to enhance clients’ independence, participation and quality of care.
Blindenzorg Licht en Liefde (BLL) is a Flemish non-profit (est. 1923) supporting adults with visual impairments through education, rehabilitation, work, day support, housing and home guidance. With 150+ staff and volunteers we reach about 3,000 clients across Flanders and Brussels. This project used European job-shadowing to co-design aids, deepen deafblind expertise, apply universal design, set up sensory rooms and adapt assessments, boosting skills and participation.
