Objectives

The aim of the project was to bring together 50 youth workers from the partners organisations to build their capacity to work on peace education in its three levels: inner, relational, and global. The intention was to held a workshop in Utøya, Norway, from 14–19 October 2024. The training wanted to focuse on building capacity among youth workers to become peace advocates for global peace and exploring the importance of mental health and self-care as part of inner peace. The specific objectives of the project were: 1. To identify the importance of peace education in building sustainable, just, and supportive societies. 2. To explore barriers that voluntary organisations faced in promoting peace values, and to propose mechanisms to overcome them. 3. To analyse realities inside and outside Europe, share experiences, and reflect on the causes and consequences of conflict. 4. To raise awareness about the importance of self-care and inner peace. 5. To equip youth workers with competencies to become peace advocates and conduct related workshops. 6. To create tangible and lasting resources to ensure the sustainability and accessibility of peace education materials.
