The following objectives were formulated for this project, with a second BRO congress as a benchmark: - We focus on structural participation (not sham participation, but real, authentic participation that creates impact) shaped for and by young people. We do this by setting up four intensive participation pathways with young people from different sectors. These trajectories meet regularly in a participation steering committee from which young people help shape the next BRO conference. - We create and strengthen intersectoral encounters and exchange good practices. - Throughout the project, we encourage equal dialogue between young people, their social network, professionals and policymakers. - We aim for policy change and political awareness by identifying social challenges and formulating clear policy recommendations. We apply for additional grant funding, across organisations to pursue substantive and authentic participation that is independent of pre-existing structures and resources. We do not let young people off the hook after the conference. We reflect on the impact that was generated, but also look together at what steps need to be taken in the future and formulate objectives and points for improvement for a BRO congress 3.0.
