Objectives

Three activities were implemented under the project - two training courses for youth workers and one youth exchange, as foreseen in our accreditation plan. Through this, we continue to pursue our overall goal, to develop the capacity of youth organizations and their teams and to attract motivated young people to youth work. We achieve this by analyzing specific needs and offering innovative training program designs, attracting experienced professionals with the skills to apply non-formal education methodologies. We aim to contribute to improving the quality of youth work, to support youth workers and organizational teams in their work in this dynamically changing environment, to expand their toolkit for positive impact, effective communication and activation of their target groups, and prepare them for their role as mediators. The project focused on conflict as the main theme, which was addressed through the concepts of equality, belonging, inclusion, and equity (first training). It examined the genesis of conflict and our reactions to it in order to arrive at the NVC (nonviolent communication) methodology, through which approaches for successful conflict resolution were proposed. It went through an examination of the genesis of conflict and our reactions to it, to arrive at the NVC (nonviolent communication) methodology, through which approaches for successfully resolving crisis situations and awareness of what causes them were proposed (second training), to practical training for youth workers in the role of mediators and testing of NVC approaches, more specifically psychodrama formats, on young people with diverse profiles (youth exchange). Hence, the main objective of this project is: Developing the competencies of youth workers, thereby improving the quality of youth work, for more effective conflict management, and testing the acquired knowledge for activating and supporting the target groups of young people. We achieved this through: 1. Providing training opportunities for experiential learning with innovative design and a clear focus – mediation and conflict management; 2. Providing an environment for the exchange of experience in educational, social, and youth practice and tools for working with young people, including those from disadvantaged groups; 3. Developing a partnership network that shares a common understanding of quality youth work and is open to applying new methods and resources; 4. Testing personal development programs based on NVC, storytelling, and psychodrama, and mentoring for their application in different contexts. We believe that with this project we have addressed sensitive issues, explored them in depth at a basic personal level, and proposed a process that can be replicated in relation to the groups we work with. We attracted experienced professionals to contribute to the quality of the activities, which was highly appreciated by our partners.
