The accredited project No. 2024-1-BG01-KA151-YOU-000200920 under the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility for Individuals (Youth), was aimed at building sustainable mechanisms for supporting youth participation, social inclusion, and the development of competences aligned with European values and youth policy objectives. The project was implemented by the Foundation "Business Innovation for Career Development" (BICD) – Bulgaria, in partnership with Asociatia “Act Integration” – Romania, as part of the long-term Accreditation Plan No. 2020-1-BG01-KA150-YOU-000095384. The main goal of the project was to create a non-formal learning environment where young people could develop their personal potential, civic engagement, sense of belonging to the European community, and motivation for sustainable community development. The project contributed to achieving the strategic priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme – inclusion and diversity, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and active participation in democratic life. The following specific objectives were defined within the project: 1. To promote active citizenship and democratic culture among young people through exchange of good practices, role-playing, discussions, and simulations of European institutions. 2. To foster the development of green skills and environmental awareness through work on topics related to climate change, sustainable technologies, and responsible consumption. 3. To enhance the social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities by ensuring equal access to international experience, cultural exchange, and competence development. 4. To encourage intercultural understanding and tolerance through joint activities between participants from different social, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. 5. To improve the quality of youth work in the partner organisations through the application of European quality standards, sustainable partnerships, and integrated learning approaches. The project included three thematically interconnected youth mobilities: - LM-EXCH-P-1 “My Democratic Contribution as a Citizen of Europe”, focused on civic participation and European values; - LM-EXCH-P-2 “Vocational Education and Training of Youth through the Application of Green Technologies and Skills”, focused on sustainable development and the green transition; - LM-EXCH-P-3 “Europe of Equality – Overcoming Discrimination and Intercultural Challenges”, aimed at promoting inclusion and social justice. Through the implementation of these three mobility activities, the project provided young participants with opportunities to: - improve their communication, leadership, and social skills; - develop critical thinking and awareness on issues related to European democratic processes; - broaden their cultural horizons and learn to work in a multicultural environment; - engage in green initiatives and volunteering activities with positive environmental impact. During implementation, the project aligned the goals of the Accreditation Plan with the specific needs of young people from the cross-border regions of Bulgaria and Romania, which share a similar socio-economic profile and limited access to international mobility opportunities. Special emphasis was placed on young people facing social, economic, health, and geographical barriers. Thanks to the provided support and adapted learning methods, the project offered them real opportunities for active inclusion and equal participation. In the long term, the project seeks to strengthen the model of sustainable partnership between the two organisations by establishing a foundation for future initiatives in the fields of education, inclusion, and youth employability. It fully corresponds to the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme to promote equal opportunities, democratic values, and sustainable development among young people across Europe.
