Objectives

The “We Are the World” project achieved its goal of addressing environmental problems by engaging young people in meaningful, hands-on activities that fostered awareness, collaboration, and action. The project placed a strong emphasis on promoting sustainable practices, raising awareness about pollution, and encouraging responsible digital habits while fostering inclusivity and diversity. It successfully bridged the gap between rural and urban perspectives, creating a shared understanding of environmental stewardship through both traditional and modern approaches. Through interactive sessions and local engagement, participants were equipped with the knowledge and skills to reduce their environmental footprint and inspire others in their communities. The project highlighted the severe impact of plastic waste, focusing on recycling and sustainable consumption. At the same time, it encouraged participants to explore ways to integrate technology responsibly into their daily lives without harming the environment. By nurturing active citizenship, the initiative empowered participants to take ownership of environmental issues and act as change-makers in their regions. The project served as a platform for fostering meaningful intercultural exchanges, strengthening bonds among participants from diverse backgrounds. By ensuring inclusivity and equal representation, particularly for those with fewer opportunities, the project emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing global challenges. Participants not only gained technical knowledge but also developed a sense of shared responsibility and solidarity, recognizing that environmental issues transcend borders and require collective action. This holistic approach ensured that the initiative left a lasting impact, inspiring participants to integrate environmental consciousness into their daily lives and advocate for change within their communities. The predetermined and realized objectives were as follows: -To increase awareness and interest in environmental issues among young people. -To promote sustainable practices to minimize environmental damage and waste. -To bridge rural and urban perspectives for developing holistic environmental solutions. -To educate participants on the ecological impacts of technology and how to adopt sustainable digital habits. -To highlight the plastic waste crisis in Europe and encourage practical recycling habits. -To foster active citizenship and civic participation to drive local and global environmental initiatives.
