Through the implementation of the ‘EmotionART Intelligence 4 YOUth’ project, we aimed to empower young people by providing them with practical tools and opportunities to understand, express, and manage their emotions in constructive ways. Our goal was to foster personal growth, social inclusion, and active citizenship among participants by combining emotional intelligence education with artistic expression. The specific objectives of the project were to: Provide participants with a solid understanding of emotional intelligence and its role in personal and interpersonal development. Offer creative spaces where young people could explore various art forms as means of expressing and working through emotions. Encourage self-awareness and self-reflection, helping participants to identify and better understand their emotions, strengths, and personal goals. Develop empathy, effective communication, and social skills through shared artistic activities and collaborative projects. Promote intercultural dialogue and celebrate diversity by encouraging participants to express their cultural backgrounds and perspectives through art. Build a sense of European community by facilitating connections and exchanges among young people from different countries and backgrounds. Support participants in developing digital skills and recognising their learning achievements through tools like Open Badges and the Cities of Learning platform. Inform young people about opportunities within European youth programmes, including Erasmus+ and Council of Europe initiatives. Engage and empower young people with fewer opportunities — including those facing economic, geographical, social, or cultural challenges, as well as refugees and migrants — to strengthen their personal and professional skills. Promote European values, social integration, intercultural understanding, and help prevent social exclusion and radicalisation. Ensure the project’s impact by sharing its outcomes within local communities and on a broader European level. Overall, the project aimed to use the transformative power of art and emotional intelligence to support the holistic development of young people and to reinforce the core values and practices of youth work.
