Objectives

By implementing the "TradE AgriCULTURE" project, we aimed to empower young people and address youth unemployment through the revival of traditional agricultural practices, combining them with entrepreneurial skills and modern sustainable methods. The overall goal was to use agriculture as a vehicle for personal and professional development, youth empowerment, and community engagement. The specific objectives of the project were to: Equip participants with practical agricultural skills, such as cherry harvesting and vineyard cultivation, enhancing their employability and connection to traditional rural practices. Cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among youth by integrating business-focused workshops (e.g., SMART goals, Business Canvas Model) and encouraging innovation based on traditional knowledge. Promote sustainable employment opportunities in the agricultural sector by linking traditional practices with contemporary, eco-conscious business approaches. Introduce participants to modern and sustainable agricultural methods, merging tradition with innovation to make rural entrepreneurship viable and attractive. Develop the capacity of participants for self-employment, enabling them to initiate and manage rural-based ventures. Foster personal development and social inclusion, especially among youth with fewer opportunities, by building confidence, communication skills, and cultural awareness. Strengthen youth work practices through non-formal education, intercultural learning, and intergenerational dialogue. Encourage active citizenship and community participation, through engagement in local festivals, events, and collaborative activities with rural residents. Enhance digital skills and promote digital transformation, including the use of tools such as Open Badges and Cities of Learning platforms. Inform participants about European youth opportunities, such as Erasmus+, ESC, and other initiatives, and inspire further engagement at a European level. Establish a strong and lasting international network, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among partner organisations. Promote core European values such as social integration, cultural diversity, and environmental responsibility. By achieving these objectives, "TradE AgriCULTURE" aspired to create a ripple effect—empowering individuals, revitalizing rural communities, and contributing to broader socio-economic and environmental goals.
