"PEACE 4 ALL" is a training course with 40 youth workers, who will meet to be empowered to struggle against radicalization and violent extremism, understand and respect human rights. To reach our major and specific aims, we chose those countries due presence of xenophobia and extremism, which increased in the above mentioned countries in last years and our up to now successful collaboration with partners. Youth engagement activities form a cornerstone as youth can engage their peers on partaking advantage their own life stories. The overall aim and objectives of the project are to create a space for building awareness of youth workers about the concepts of violent radicalization and extremism, processes and risks leading to violent radicalization and extremism and empowering youth in countering violent radicalization and extremism on the individual, peer and community levels with the special focus to refugee and migrant communities through non-violent activities and actions. The “PEACE 4 ALL” project aimed to build capacity and empower 40 European youth workers from 8 countries to gain essential competencies and experience which would support them in becoming active citizens and peace envoys, and who would implement on the local level various types of actions about and for peace and non-violence. Our specific project objectives included: - To promote European values of peace and non-violence, democracy and freedom of speech; - To promote active participation and citizenship, civic engagement and a sense of ownership of/ responsibility for societal processes; - To facilitate the transborder exchange of ideas and experiences among youth workers from a range of both EU and non-EU countries; - To raise the possibilities of people within the European volunteering movement to get active in peace activism through a variety of forms; - To bring non-formal peace education to the streets and online spaces of Europe and as a consequence increase public understanding of peace, responsible citizenship and participation; - To increase the quality and amount of youth projects for peace, inclusion and non-violence. Thanks to the project participants will raise their awareness and knowledge about current alarming tendencies: xenophobia, extremism and radicalisation, discrimination of migrants/refugees/asylum seekers. We will show participants basic concepts, challenges, dynamics of these topics as well as efforts of the European Union and countries neighbouring EU to combat them in a peaceful way.
